Miigen Support

Miigen does not want anybody to leave our family but we understand that on some occasion this may be the case. During the deletion of your account, you will be taken through a series of questions and asked how you wish your account to be handled.

First, to get to the delete page, do the following:

  1. Log into your Miigen account and from any page, click your profile picture/name and select 'Settings'.

  2. Under the 'General' settings, scroll down to the bottom on the page and look for the 'Manage your account' section.
  3. Click on the red 'Delete account' button

    This will take you to the delete account page.

When you reach the export account page, it will explain the process for you to complete the deletion.

This operation will fully and irrecoverably remove your account from the Miigen system. We request confirmation to proceed with the deletion request to ensure this is the intended result.

Step 1: Acceptance

On this box, we explain the procedure for deletion and ask you to confirm you wish to start the process to remove your account from Miigen. This involves clicking a tick box and then the 'Begin deletion' button will become available.

Step 2: Groups

On this screen, it will show you the status of your Groups. As groups involve other members of Miigen, the ownership of groups must be handled. If you have not got any groups associated with your account, this step will be bypassed.

The screen is split into two sections:

  • Groups with members
    This list will show the groups that you are a part of and that contain other members. You can specifically select a member to take over the ownership of each group, or you can choose not to assign ownership and let Miigen automatically select the next longest serving member of the group.
  • Group without members
    If you are the only member of a group, these groups will be removed from Miigen.

Note this step will only appear if you are registered as a business user and have businesses.

On this screen, it will show you the status of your Businesses. As with groups, businesses involve other members of Miigen, therefore the ownership of must be handled. The screen is split into two sections:

  • Businesses with members
    This list will show the businesses that you are a part of and contains other members. You can specifically select a member to take over the ownership of each business, or you can let Miigen automatically select the next longest serving member of the business.
  • Businesses without members
    If you are the only member of a business, the business will be removed from Miigen.

If a business is deleted, it will remove any information connected with that business. However, for business purposes, any transactions to buy adverts from us will be retained with contact information available to only Miigen staff so that any queries arising from transactions can be sent to you.

As with exporting your account, you can request a copy of your personal information during the deletion process. On this screen, you need to tick the box to state that you wish an export. Leaving this box unticked, the export will be skipped when Miigen deletes your account.

The final summary stage is an overview of the criteria you have selected while going through the various stages. There are options to change each step by clicking on the 'Change' options at each step. This will take you back to the stage and will return you back to the summary stage when you have finished changing the settings.

The final stage is to click the confirmation button acknowledging that you are about to give consent to Miigen to remove your account.

If you wish to give us feedback as to why you have decided to delete your account, we invite you to enter this into the box provided.

Step 5: Summary

After clicking the 'Yes, delete' button, this will show a screen asking you to wait and that this process may take several minutes.

You will receive an email from us confirming your account has been deleted and if you have asked for an export, it will contain a link to your export file. This link will be available for a period of 7 days after which it will be automatically deleted.

Miigen interation with other apps

Miigen can be set up with third-party applications such as Facebook, FamilySearch and email providers. Although the interaction only happens when the Miigen user wishes Miigen to interact with them, and there is no automatic interation, we advise you to remove our connection from your relative account.

Each app is different on how to do this, but in the case of Facebook, this can be done via the Settings > Apps and websites on Facebook itself.
